Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame
For years the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame (CCMHOF), located in Merritt, BC, has stood as a foundation for country music. CCMHOF created the Then and Now project to preserve and promote the rich legacy of Canadian country music.
Then and Now Volume 1 has been two years in the making, from conception, to funding, to planning, to playing the first note. It culminated in a recording event in 2018 where, over the course of seven days, twenty-four artists sang on ten classic Canadian songs.
Helmed by Canadian Country Music Association award-winning producers Tom and Carly McKillip, each song was recorded at the legendary Armoury Studios in Vancouver BC, followed by vocal sessions at Arc House Studios in Kelowna.
The album includes legends such as Ian Tyson, Family Brown, Murray McLauchlan, and Michelle Wright with stars such as Brett Kissel, Aaron Pritchett, Jess Moskaluke, and George Canyon. These artists have created a deep and lasting imprint on the international musical landscape and serve as a reminder that as popular music culture evolves, today’s stars become tomorrow’s legends, and will continue to inspire the artists that follow.

In Support of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame
The album was created in partnership between the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, Creative BC, and the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association. It is the first of future recording projects as iconic inductees continue to be added to the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.
Celebrate Canada’s country music culture and support up-and-coming artists.
